Welcome

MUSIC WITH A MISSION!

HomeBrewed is “Music with a Mission”–a fun filled, multi-generational group, based in Iowa City, playing a mix of originals and covers in a Bluesy Rock’n Roll style. Our “mission” is to play music in support of non-profit organizations who are helping those in need in our society.  So far, we have participated in over 60 benefit concerts for groups such as those who are assisting the homeless, victims of domestic violence, new immigrant communities, food banks and animal shelters. We released our first album in 2023 “Devil in My Soul” which is available on Spotify and Apple music (https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/hb-devil-in-my-soul-full-cd/pl.u-4ZRBTJoDXd. We try to respect the roots of the blues and the influence of blues on other types of music with the selection of our songs. Our original songs and covers are varied, including traditional blues, modern blues, Gospel, Rockabilly and Country. Our covers include classics by the likes of Jimmy Rogers, Johnny Cash, Stray Cats, and Eric Clapton, to current bands such as Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Kaleo, and JJ Grey and Mofro. We use our music to give back for all the blessings we have had in life. Please let us know if you had a fundraiser in the Iowa City area that would benefit from having live music.

Thanks for helping the food banks!

Thank you to the 250 people who participated in the brisk 5K Fun Run/Walk/Crawl at the Walker Homestead, Sunday morning Nov 14. Over $14,000 was raised for the Coralville and North Liberty Food Banks, just in time for the holidays. Additional donations can be made at: https://www.coralvillefoodpantry.org/give; https://northlibertycommunitypantry.org/donor/donate-now/.

Suicide Awareness/Prevention Benefit Gig Successful

On Saturday evening Sept 18, about 100 people came out to Wilson's Orchard on a beautiful evening to enjoy the company of friends, listen to music and kick off the Jenifer (Dr. Jen) Wolfe Memorial Funding Campaign, an effort by the UI College of Dentistry and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry to support the College’s suicide prevention program in memory of a member of the Class of 2001. In addition, a small portion of these funds will be used to provide dental care to disadvantaged children. For more information and to contribute, please visit the funding campaign’s website:https://uigoldrush.org/drjen. A special thank you to Wilson's for hosting the event. Special night for a special cause.

Help Craft Brewery Workers Who've Lost Jobs

HomeBrewed is co-sponsoring the "Socially Distant Beer Festival", a fundraiser for the 450 people who have lost their jobs at craft breweries and tap rooms in Iowa.
It's tough duty but I know you are up to it:
1. Buy a $5 ticket: https://www.virtualbeerfest.org/tickets
2. Pick up some of your favorite craft beer
3. Join others on Twitter, Facebook, and/or Instagram on Saturday, March 28, so we can drink beer together (from a safe distance), with the help of our hashtag, #virtualbeerfest

If you are outside Iowa, please support the employees at your local craft breweries and tap rooms.

If you aren't a big craft beer fan, please find another group that you can assist during these challenging times.

While there lots of folks are in need, this is a small, low-cost way of helping those who have provided we craft beer fans with a small piece of liquid joy.

Thanks for helping our friends and neighbors far and near.

 #virtualbeerfest

Please support your local non-profits

2) CommUnity Food Bank

3) Shelter House for the Homeless

All are trying to help the less fortunate during these trying times.

Please be safe and stay well physically and emotionally!
